Lake Oswego, Oregon.

I guess we were featured in the series "24". It showed three black men fishing on this large lake with snowy mountains in the background and surrounded by beautiful forests.

The irony? Lake Oswego is dominantly white (although I'm an african-american myself), we don't have a huge pretty lake (it is green and has evil swamp creatures that live in it), there are basically no snowy mountains visible from any point in the city...

When I saw that "24" episode I laughed. Out loud. I lol'd... so hard. Then I rolled around on the floor laughing, like this:

Hi, thanks so much for the warm welcome and sorry that I haven't posted back sooner...been a little busy :) I would like to go post beyond the Free zone, but I'm having a little trouble building up my bio. I looked up the bios of the others and they're so detailed that they took my breath away! Some even described their homes, showed floorplans, talked about childhoods, etcetera...I don't think I can make up something like that  I was wondering what's the simplest form that I could submit; the bare necessities? Thank you!! :D

Han Antilles
08-20-2005, 02:25 PM
You can be as detailed as you want, Zell. It is all up to the writer on how much character development they want to put into it. If you want to start with the bare neccessities and then later add more to your bio, you are free to do that.

When you submit and we critique your bio, it is only because we want to help you, not hinder. Everyone goes through it, even me at times. LOL.

But remember, we are here to help. :mrt

I wasn't gonna do this but what the hell.....McHenry IL. Its about 2 hours (or less if I drive) from Chicago and about 15 minutes (again less if I drive) from the Wisconsin border.

Kevin Smith was actually in my little part of the woods to film some footage for Dogma. The church that the last scion is in before she meets the voice of God is just down the street from my house.

The Fraser Valley usually has less snow than most parts in the lower mainland, but that is because it is a valley. It was sunny in Abbotsford that day. I heard Nanaimo got close to 30 inches, though.

Garrick Farrell

I call the great state of Arizona my home. I've lived all over (Show Low, Snowflake-Taylor, Gilbert, Mesa). The upper half is thick forests of ponderosa pines and mountains, while the bottom half is desolate desert. There's one point when you're driving from Payson to Phoenix that the pine trees are suddenly replaced with cactus.

Han Antilles
08-21-2009, 01:11 PM
I had an aunt that lived in Payson until she moved up to California.

I assume you've been to the Grand Canyon and Meteor Crater as well?

When I traveled across Arizona I visited the petrified forest and stopped by Meteor Crater. Unfortunately, they charged $20 just to see it.

Not going to pay that much just to see a hole in the ground.

Garrick Farrell
08-21-2009, 02:06 PM
Yep, they're pretty much just big holes in the ground. Although when I went to the Grand Canyon, I was 7 or 8 and don't remember much about it. But I need to go back now and experience the Skywalk (I'll literally be a Skywalker :p). It's a plexiglass bridge shaped like a rainbow that extends over the edge of canyon, so when you look down you feel like Wile E. Coyote.

Han Antilles
08-25-2009, 01:27 PM
Good question. I drove through Arizona about 5 years ago, so I really don't remember. Taylor does sound familiar, though.

Garrick Farrell
08-25-2009, 07:04 PM
Haha oh okay. That's where I live, so I was just wondering. I guess it all depends on what direction you were driving.

Velsper Kayna

Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. Not really much to see here, except during the Armageddon Expo or watching the Uni students head down south on the Undie 500 (but that's been cancelled).

Qardin Starfire
10-16-2009, 06:26 AM
The Undie 500 huh, why was it canceled?

Velsper Kayna
10-16-2009, 01:31 PM
Otago and Canterbury Uni students as well as others rioting in Dunedin. It would not have happened if the mayor had permitted a concert to go ahead and let the student pub stay open. Now ENSOC, the guys who run it, are thinking of changing the drive destination to Hokitika, on the west coast. Of course they didn't run it in 2008 and an underground one went down and still caused riots.
