I'm sure you guys have heard about this -- if you live in America anyway. The woman went missing days before her wedding and the entire town searched everywhere for her for days.
Turns out she ran away because she got cold feet. The whole thing has turned into a media circus and now the woman has a book deal out of the whole thing, is making appearances, and is probably making some money off this.
So I was talking to my boyfriend last night while watching the news, and said, "I'm going to disappear for a few days, okay? Then when I come back I can get a book deal too and we'll be rich! I'm white, middle class, and pretty just like all the others they go crazy over in the news!"
He said, "no, it won't work, because I'm Mexican. They won't care."
I thought about it for a minute and replied, "yeah, you're probably right. They'll probably just arrest you for my murder and start looking for my dead body in the back yard."

Anyway I thought it was funny. And so did he :P
