Stupid Ezboard

SWR was wiped out as well, and apparently, NOW, only gold boards can request restorals. I'm SERIOUSLY considering leaving ezboard altogether and boycotting their stupidity and raging desire to make a buck. SWR WILL more than likely be moving, although I'm not sure where yet. I'll try to stay here too, but I'm not making any promises. I'm fed up with this crap.

I think they are going to restore everyone that they can, not just Gold boards.

We are upset too, we lost a lot of data and we're not sure we'll get it back. But we're staying and rebuilding.

Well, good luck somewhere else.

But something like that doesn't happen only on ezboard. It happened to Tac's off-ezboard site Thanatopsis too. We were hacked there and the board is destroyed.

That's exactly one of the things the hacker was trying to accomplish: sapping EzBoard of all its members. It's too bad people are leaving, but it's completely understandable.

One of my admins was told that only gold boards can apply for restorals...and I also think it's odd that ezboard's "staff" forums, such as the help desk, bug base, etc., never get hit. Lord knows if I were a hacker, and going after ezboard, that's where I'd strike. Also odd how they never catch anyone...you'd think they'd hire a few "hackers"...that's the first rule of hackerdom..."There's always someone better than you". I'll try to stay here too...and if we move, I'll keep the link to Tales up. And I don't think I'd leave Tales...you guys have been kind...more so than a few nameless others.

All boards that they can restore, are being restored, gold and non-gold. The way they're doing it, they really can't distinguish between them -- in fact, people who asked NOT to be restored are being told "too bad, we can't pick and choose". And the staff forums were hit, I saw it, and you can still see that they are missing a ton of threads just like we are.

You'd think with all the money they bring in for gold service, etc., that they could buy some anti-attack software, but, then again, the staff has proven time and time again, that anything intelligent, is something that they are incapable of.

Well it was an inside job, by an ex-employee who knew passwords and could remote login. And he knew what we know now - that ezboard doesn't really do real backups.

Hopefully that will change.

No, Sam...what he knew, is what we all know: Ezboard's staff are complacent, lazy, and overconfident...funny how that spelled doom for the Jedi Order of the Old Republic...and they are NOT restoring non-gold board...stupid money grubbing...nerfherders!

I have to say that I would prefer that they do restore gold boards first. We had a lot of kind people donating this time and for their sake, we should be taken care of first.

But they way they're doing it, is server by server, and there are gold and non-gold boards on every server.
