Best: Empire Strikes Back. It has the best story and dialogue. It shows that a love story can have wit, it introduced Yoda and Rogue Squadron. And I think it was the first movie that really shocked me as kid with "Luke, I am your father" and Han in carbonite.

No, but I did write a play as a senior in high school called "Almost Macbeth", a comedy, and I won an award for it.

Who do you idolize, who do you despise.

Ariana Foxx
07-06-2004, 02:11 AM
Mother Theresa is probably the only person I could claim as an idol.

I've never really gotten into idolizing people. We're all human and we've all got y'know feet of clay and all that. That said there are traits in people I Really admire, and the people who tend to impress me exemplify those qualities.

That said, I also don't despise many people on account of us all being only human.
My grade Ten society challenge and change teacher is way up there though. I Loathed him.

What trait do you most admire, and what quality do you hate most?

Lieutenant Korr
07-06-2004, 05:37 AM
Intelligence is a good trait. Pessimism irritates me.

What is the strangest thing you ever ate?

Corran Antilles
07-06-2004, 09:36 AM
Fried Calamari. Not the ones you get in rings. I ordered it at a Greek restaurant and got whole one on my plate. They were as big as the whole plate. I wasn't sure how to eat them, so I tried a part of the arms. I chewed and chewed and chewed, it was like a tire. I stopped eating it.

When they make a movie out of your life, who should play you?

Samantha Koortyn
07-06-2004, 09:54 AM
If they were too chewy, they were cooked wrong. But I only eat the rings anyway, not the parts resembling a creature.

Jennifer Jason Leigh, I've been told all my life I look just like her.

Same question.

Han Antilles
07-06-2004, 11:57 AM
Someone told me once Alfred Molina. They said I look like him, and he's Spanish as well.

Same question, because I am too lazy.

Ariana Foxx
07-06-2004, 04:20 PM
I'd like Angelina Jolie and a wildly improbable storyline as unrelated to my real life as possible . . Something with fast cars and lots of explosions.

If you want someone who'd do it accurately I'd say Judy Garland.

I've never been told I look like anyone.

And to break the streak, If your life was a book what kind of book would it be and who would write it?

Samantha Koortyn
07-06-2004, 04:29 PM

What was the funniest moment in your life?

Ariana Foxx
07-07-2004, 02:48 PM
Thanksgiving uhm sometime in the nineties.
The turkey was going to be at least an hour late to the table, everything else was ready, guests were present and hungry and my mother completely flipped out. Totally lost her lid.

I remember poking the turkey and going 'Oh @#%$"thinking for thirty seconds, covering it back up and putting it back in "Well, whatcha goin'a do . ."

And even now, I find it funny to think about that day. Because we just shoving booze and appetizers out and no one cared. In fact, we were halfway through the meal (which made it to the table at 8pm instead of 6) before anyone noticed.

What was the scariest moment of your life?

Corran Antilles
07-07-2004, 03:01 PM
Watching some ambulance men trying to reanimate my mother.

same question

Samantha Koortyn
07-07-2004, 04:23 PM
I woke up one morning with the worst headache I've ever had, in the right side of my skull; my whole head and face twitched to one side with each heartbeat. I thought I needed to go to the hospital but no vehicle was available.

Especially scary since a friend of mine died from a brain aneurism (same symptoms) when we were 15.

Since it's topical (at least for me that is) What's the longest road trip you've ever been on?

Corran Antilles
08-15-2004, 05:03 PM
The longest in one part: I drove with a friend from Hamburg to the Black Forest to bring his wife to a stay at a spa there. He had asked me if I could join so he hadn't drove back alone. We started at 6 am and thought it would be easy to make it there and back again when we take turns with driving . But it became a horror trip, not only because it's more than 1000 kilometers, but because we had the worst weather: snow, icy roads, and then rain in the middle at the night, that we had no sight almost. I was home at 2 am the next day. And I can tell you, that in the last few kilometers before home I really saw "ghosts" crossing the streets. First time and only time I had hallucinations because of the lack of sleep.

What is your favourite joke?

Samantha Koortyn
11-26-2004, 07:54 PM
A blonde calls her boyfriend and says, "please come over here and help me… I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I can't figure out how to get it started."

Her boyfriend asks, "What is it supposed to be when it's finished?"

The blonde says, "according to the picture on the box, it's a tiger."

Her boyfriend decides to go over and help with the puzzle. She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table. He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says,

"First of all, no matter what we do, we're not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a tiger."

He held her hand and said, "Second, I'd advise you to relax. Let's have a glass of gin and then ..........." he sighed, "let's put all these Frosted Flakes back in the box."

What was/is your favourite class at school?

Biology/Human Anatomy & Physiology.

I loved anything related to biological science to death. Still do and is my current area of specialization.

Same question.

Samantha Koortyn
12-05-2004, 07:55 PM
In high school, an Advanced Placement psychology class taught by the most quirky teacher in the school (well, except for the Civil War re-enacter who would appear in costume sometimes). We got to basically goof off all day and take weird field trips where we were trusted to drive our own cars to and from the location of the trip. I once was unfortunately witness to the teacher getting reprimanded for this, which I felt was totally inappropriate. He should have been taken somewhere private.

In college, my Short Fiction class (reading them, not writing them). I barely paid attention, never participated (in fact I read other books), and still passed. I didn't even buy the reading material. (I had enough of it already at home in my collection.)

I also enjoyed my TV 101 class (the history of television shows).

What was/is your least favorite class?

Corran Antilles
12-05-2004, 08:16 PM
