I made a list of my Star Wars novel, roleplay books, comics etc....
We can post our lists here to compare, show off ;) or maybe just give the others a hint how many books they still need to read.

I'm working on filling the 4th shelf. But that's without comics and RPG stuff, which are in a huge stack (the comics) and in my "RPG-transport-box", which I can carry when we play not at my place.

Hmmmm. My collection is large (oo-er missus!) but consists only of the novels. I used to pride myself on having all of the novels - but alas, I haven't bought any in a year. So. My collection consists of all the books published up until about May last year.
I refuse to write those out.

You have the old books too, Faryon? The ones I bought in the 70's/early 80's?

Um, no. Probably not. Although I did have the Return of the Jedi kids book (big hardback book with pictures).
I just meant novels Zahn onwards.
And none of the young jedi ones.

It's almost impossible to read all books from start to finish in the right chronological line, because almost each month there are new ones from different eras.
Ebay is always good for buying books too.

No interest in Jei Apprentice series, terribly disappointed in The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones so I didn't bother with the novels, and much of the other prequel related literature has failed to pique my interest.
Question for Corran Antilles: I noticed something titled "Corellian Tales" in your list, a product of the European fan club. Could you tell me something about it?
Ratings:
Rec!= A great read!
Rec.=Usually entertaining enough with a few rocky places
NR=Usually bad, boring, too much padding of the book with filler
stinkbomb=save your credits

Corellian Tales is a small book that the German SW fan club produced in 1994 with fanfiction short stories written by members.

Tatooine Ghost is the same. Dumb and boring.
Well i'm new to this forum, so will say hello.
Just started reading Star Wars Books, and after believeing there were just books for Episodes 1-6, i found out how many books there actually are and am a bit overwhelmed.
So far i've read and own :
Revenge Of The Sith
Legacy Of The Jedi
Secrets Of The Jedi
Jedi Trial
Yoda: Dark Renezvous
Cestus Deception
Shatterpoint
Medstar 1 + 2
The Last Of The Jedi #1
Boba Fett - Crossfire
Boba Fett - The Fight To Survive
Boba Fett - Maze Of Deception
Boba Fett - Hunted
Defense Of Kamino Graphic Novel
Planning to buy:
The Approaching Storm
Rogue Planet (Seen your reviews of how bad it is, but will read anyway, i'm a sucker for punishment :) )
Cloak Of Deception
Dart Maul - Shadow Hunter
What i'd like to know is, is there a list online of all the books in era categories?
I've been trying to read all the current novels in the Clone Wars Era, but seem to have branched out to The Phantom Menace Era and just before it.
I want to read all the books eventually, if thats even possible anymore with some books going out of print, but i'd like some sort of idea of what books there are to each era. The above link to a list had me even mor confused lol.
Also, does anyone know a place to get the Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest Books? Amazon has some, but a lot of them are currently limited availablity and they suggest buying used, which i'd prefer not to do if possible. Any links to good and trustworthy Bookshops that ship to the UK would be greatly appreaciated.

*jaw drop* okay...so I have a cutaway ships and some collectors thing I got with and Empire mag, although I have read all the 18 or so books at the library. I think if I went into a bookstore and asked for any of these, let alone all of them, they would sneak away and ring the men in the white coats. Either that or praise their lucky stars and start plannig their retirement on what they could charge me for them :p

I updated my list today.
A while ago I bought:
Inside the Worlds of Star Wars (Die Welten der Star Wars Trilogie)- Richard Chasemore, Hans Jenssen & Curtis Saxton - German
Very interesting. It's like the cross-section books, but this time for building and battle fields.
Two weeks ago I bought, but haven't read yet:
Republic Commando: Hard Contact (Republic Commando: Feindkontakt) - Karen Traviss - German
Labyrinth of Evil (Labyrinth des Bösen) - James Luceno – German
And today I found two real eye candies:
Creating the worlds of Star Wars - 365 days (George Lucas und die Schöpfung seiner Welten) - John Knoll - German (this one is with CD-Rom even!)
Ultimate Visual Guide, The (Die illustrierte Chronik der kompletten Saga) - Ryder Windham - German

Nice, Corran!
You'll love the Ultimate Visual Guide. Lots of info to use on our stories and characters.
I would suggest reading "Labyrinth of Evil" first. I enjoyed it a lot. :D

I don't have nearly as many as Corran, but it's enough to take up a good half of my bookcase. I'm going from memory here...
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith
A New Hope
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
X-Wing: Rogue Squadron
X-Wing: Wedge's Gamble
The Thrawn Trilogy
The Hand of Thrawn Duology
Survivor's Quest
The Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy (I think that's what they are called)
Vector Prime - - - Rebel Dream (NJO series up to that point)
I've read most of those books, or I'm in the middle of them. I've also read more than that from the library, but haven't been able to afford buying them myself yet. For example, I've read the entire X-Wing series, but only own two of them so far. I'm also particularly fond of the Jedi Apprentice books, which were my first ones. :)

I bought book 10 of the NJO : Dark Journey by Elaine Cunningham.
Even when I'm no big fan of the NJO, I need to know how it will continue.

I've gotta go through and figure out all the ones I have so far. My newest is the Ultimate Visual Guide. It's very pretty graphic wise, with a lot of images included from the various Dark Horse SW comic titles.

Heh! I got everything except for "Science Meets Imagination" and "Legacy of the Force."
Let me know if Legacy is any good. I have a bad feeling about it. Reading about it in the latest Insider makes me think LucasArts ran out of ideas.

Two more added to the collection:
Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide
Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary
Both receive a Rec! rating. I'm really liking the series DK Publishing has put out.

The Original Trilogy (one book)
The Thrawn Trilogy (three books)
Vision of the Future

I need to actually go through and see what I have. I have MANY a star wars book. Only like the first half of the New Jedi Order books but MUCH from 'Truce at Bakura.' to right before 'Vector Prime.'
I do know off hand I have all of the Young and Junior Jedi Knight Books. They are short BUT a very good read.
At my comic shop? They have all Three Zahn books from his popular trilogy in one hugh comic book collection for like..$30-35 bucks.
It tempts me.
Kyle Lok
07-01-2010, 11:42 AM
I have around 35 books I believe, spanning all the way from the Clone Wars to Legacy of the Force. I just finished the New Jedi Order seriers and am about the start the Dark Nest trilogy.

I have two shelves full of a variety of Star Wars paperbacks and a few hard covers. They range from Republic Commando: True Colours to a complete set of the X-wing series to an incomplete set of the Legacy of the Force series. The only duplicates I have are the Thrawn trilogoy by Zahn. I bought the paperbacks earlier and managed to find a set of hard covers in good condition last year.
I know what you mean, Sasha. A comic book containing the Thrawn trilogy is very, very tempting.

Anybody here finish reading Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor? I gave up on that book some time ago.
Corran Antilles
07-07-2010, 10:33 AM
I read it. It wasn't that great, but I was glad that there was finally a book again, that isn't about Clones or about the Republic after the Vong invasion.
I haven't even started reading the Legacy series. I need to, but the libraries near my house have nothing.

But never waste your time with a book, that you don't like, Kid, just because others say that it's good.

07-07-2010, 11:06 PM
I read Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor earlier this year. The writing style is similar to Stover's earlier work, the novelization of Revenge of the Sith. I really, really enjoyed ROTS, but Mindor was worth the read as well. Then again, my taste in books does vary: I was okay with Tatooine Ghost.

Kyle Katarn was the star of a Star Wars computer game, and many authors have made use of the character in any number of scenarios since then; this Galen Marek clown is sick joke that you can't do anything with. The Force Unleashed will never be in my book collection.
