The continued escalation of the Tapani Crisis is causing several members of the Galactic Senate to call for a vote as to whether the New Republic military should be called in. With it appearing more and more likely that the conflict will spill into neighbouring systems, the vote is expected to go through.

However, Senator Gray of Nista remains confident that the problem can be contained.

"There is no need to panic. The 'Crisis', as it is being called, is contained. Rumors of a burgeoning pirate trade and the continued growth of Imperial forces is ridiculous. As a member representing Tapani, I assure you that the problem is relatively small and should be quelled by the Tapani reserves."

Fellow Senatorial members also from the sector remain firm that the problem should be eliminated by the Galactic government.

The vote is expected to go through to the Senate in three weeks time.
