The Republic’s military industrial complex is behind a series of pirate attacks in the Borleias sector. The chilling plot came to light when witnesses from a Republican vessel in orbit revealed that starfighters aboard one of the Republic’s cruisers were being painted to resemble pirate ships, presumably to engage in further attacks against New Republic shipping interests in that sector.

The military buildup in the Borleias sector is due to a pirate raid on an isolated military supply depot located far enough off of main hyperspace routes that any suspicious activity would likely go undetected, giving the industrialists ample time and cover to plan their campaign of terror against the Republic and a pirate attack against their depot. Unfortunately, the Republic has classified the sensor recordings of the incident, making it impossible to determine the actual course of events or whether or not their version of events is correct.

Upon further inquiry it seems that the admiral initially in charge of the military buildup over Borleais has disappeared, presumably for consultations with her profit hungry masters so that they can plot the next stage of their rain of terror.
