Senator Rivil

In today's news, Senator Rivil announced in today's session of the New Republic senate about looking into an investigation in the Outer Rim concerning possible Imperial activity. When Chief of State, Leia Organa Solo, inquired to Senator Rivil into why the New Republic should expend their resources into such an investigation, he replied simply that a source in the Outer Rim had confirmed that an Imperial blockade had established themselves on Tatooine.

Of course, with such a claim came several statements concerning the matter against Senator Rivil, especially from Behn-kihl-nahm, Chairman of the Defense Council.

"We have never heard such a claim like this before from anyone in the Outer Rim as of late," he stated to the GNN. "In fact, after Senator Rivil brought this out in today's session, I personally transmitted a message to Tatooine to see about this ridiculous claim. What I received in return from Governor Kesa of Tatooine was an outright statement that announced that this rumor is a complete falsehood and that no Imperial activity exists at all. Governor Kesa is now inquiring to me about who started this rumour, and I am bound to find out from Rivil himself!"

As of this hour, Behn-kihl-nahm is now pressing the issue to Senator Rivil as to who the source is so an investigation can be opened as to why this claim was made. Rivil has refused to disclose the source, claiming that it would compomise certain individuals under his jurisdiction. This statement now has given fuel to the numerous rumors during the past year that Senator Rivil has been involved in certain questionable activities in the Outer Rim, especially with members of the rumored Bravi'os Syndicate.

"This is an outrage!" Rivil has declared to the Ruling Council of the New Republic. "Why would I present such a claim if there was no truth to it? I demand that my claim be investigated, and not my sources that I rely on. Or myself!"

When Krall Praget, Chairman of the Council on Security and Intelligence, was questioned by the GNN concerning if there is any current activities conducted by the New Republic on Tatooine at the moment, he simply cited, "The New Republic has no interest in investigating this rumor as we have more important matters at the moment, the Black Fleet Crisis being our top priority."
