Lower City, Nar Shaddaa

The planet of Nar Shaddaa, also known in the galaxy as the Smuggler's Moon and controlled by the Hutt Syndicate, was the subject of a major shake up in its lower levels tonight. Witnessess reported of a firefight ensuing outside Bel's Cantina, a popular watering hole rumored to be occupied and run by the Hutt's criminal underworld. Reports confirmed that two figures appearing as Jedi Knights were at the scene wielding lightsabers against several patrons. Several deaths have been reported from the confrontation.

From the aftermath of the spectacle, it has been confirmed that one body has been identified as a Falleen named Mankar Dfvor, a notorious figure in the underworld suspected to be under the employment of Black Sun. Dfvor was rumored to be running several slave rings for either the Hutts or Black Sun. New Republic authorities have reported that a large slave trading ring has been broken, which was located underneath the tavern. Several large cages have been opened and it appears that every slave confined have escaped.

Also among the bodies found was a human female– known as Amira among her slave companions. Witnessess stated these Jedi were there to secure her release and at the same time, secure the release of all slaves. Investigators assume this was probably the main cause of the firefight this evening.

GNN took a brief moment to speak with the Jedi Academy's founder, Master Luke Skywalker, about this event on Nar Shaddaa. Master Skywalker made a clear statement to the GNN to announce to the galaxy. "The events that happened on Nar Shaddaa was not anything that myself or the Jedi Academy have authorized. Although we are against slavery of any means, we do not claim responsibility in this matter. Whoever these 'Jedi' are, they are not members of the Jedi Order. These may be rogue agents who may have fallen to the dark side."

When asked if these "Jedi" may be part of the Sith Order, Master Skywalker only stated. "From the report I read, they did not wield red lightsabers, which would conclude them as members of the Sith. I would still say these are rogue Jedi who have left our order or never belonged to it."

As of this moment, there have been no sign of these two assumed Jedi and a search has begun to find them. Spaceports have been notified to look out for their descriptions. Stay tuned for more news from the Galactic News Network. This is Roona Quince.
