Good evening. This is GNN, the Galactic News Network.

A vote in the NR Senate on a resolution that would send military aide to Tapani Sector has failed amidst argument on the exact wording of the measure and the level of force that should be deployed. Some senators who were thought to have supported the resolution have instead voted against it citing accusations that it has been watered down and will amount to nothing more than a symbolic measure. Supporters of the measure say they will rework the resolution, and a second vote is expected soon.

Meanwhile, the crisis in Tapani has continued unabated. Neighboring sectors are reportedly deploying military forces near Tapani, claiming to have caught Noble forces in their space on more than one occasion.

And in the heart of Tapani Sector the former Imperial garrison continues to prove that it is a power in it's own right. Just yesterday a fleet entered space around Procopia, the sector capital, in what eyewitnesses describe as a short and bloodless takeover. The fleet is believed to be a detachment of the 105th Imperial fleet that tangled with New Republic forces mere months ago.

When contacted for comment, representatives of the Imperial Remnant would only say that it regarded all Imperial forces in Tapani as breakaway rogue elements that they no longer recognized as being part of the Remnant's armed forces.

In another startling development, the Imperial garrison and the Free Worlds
have announced a formal alliance against the Noble Houses. In a jointly authored statement sent to GNN, they claim that the new Tapani Alliance is the new legitimate government of Tapani Sector. Whether or not the rest of the galaxy, or the New Republic, recognizes them remains to be seen.

As always, GNN will be your first source for breaking news in the ongoing Tapani Civil War.

Bloodied But Unbowed.
