Marine Corps Rules for gunfighting

1. Bring your gun, two is better than one and bring all your friends who have guns
2. The size of your gun does matter, so bring a big gun
3. Murphy's Law applies to everything, so have a plan and a back up plan, cuz the first one will fail
4. Remember the rifle creed, "its the hits that count"
5. Mobility and cover is your best friend
6. In ten years, no one's gonna remember what kinda gun you brought, how much ammo you used, but who survived
7. Remeber, cheating is allowed, because all is fair during war

Why shoot someone from the front when you can shoot them from the back? Shooting said person in the back is far less dangerous.

If you want to doublecross someone make sure that they will not put a bounty on you.

If you double cross someone and that person ends up dead you are ahead of the game.

Why sell someone a ship and let them keep it when you can sell that person a ship, shoot that person and keep the money.

If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge?

A Few Good Men

"What do we do then, sir? We joined the Corps 'cause we wanted to live our lives by a certain code. And we found it in the Corps. And now you're asking us to sign a piece of paper that says we have no honor. You're asking us to say we're not Marines. If a judge and jury decide that what we did was wrong, I'll accept whatever punishment they give. But I believe I was riqht, sir. I believe I did my Job. And I won't dishonor myself, my unit, or the Corps, so that I can qo home in six months. Sir."

"Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You?  You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: That Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You NEED me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty…we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it. I'd prefer you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to."

"Why do you like them so much?"
"Because they stand on a wall and say, 'Nothing is going to hurt you tonight, not on my watch."

"If you love something, set it free, but, if it doesn't come back to you, track it down and kill it." – Not sure who said it.  It might not be the exact words either.  It's just how I remember it.
